Today’s subject is definitely a work in progress for me. Growing up and even in my early adulthood I was a pushover, someone who couldn’t say “no” or stood up for myself in situations where I should have.

I think, it was after I turned 30 that something started to change, I noticed that defending feelings you have or simply saying no, if you don’t agree with something is quite OK.

I am most definitely not a super assertive person, but I am working on myself. It’s important that I stay true to myself, but in the same time I do not want to feel like someone is taking advantage off me.

I see my closest girlfriends being so open about what they like and don’t like and I admire that so much. I love learning from strong and confident women.

I will never change the fact that I love people, support them, forget easily and mostly love helping people. What I can change and work on is being more self-assured and confident, and allowing myself to stood up for myself.

Have you ever struggled with self-esteem, being confident or assertive? I would love to hear your thoughts on this.

We can help each other to become the best version of ourselves and women supporting women is what I admire the most.
